The outlook for drivers at Kriska is excellent. We are a growth company with a serious demand for drivers.
Kriska has an excellent reputation for retaining drivers, a strong indicator that we are doing something right, in an industry with a current shortage of over-the-road drivers.
Our success in retaining employees has helped us win, in the past, the Canadian Recruitment and Retention Award and we’ve been one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Private Companies since 2000.
Pay/Hours of Work
Pay is usually by the mile, with a reasonable expectation of 2,500 miles per week. Drivers are limited to driving/working 70 hours in 8 days. Kriska offers a competitive base pay per mile, a wide range of accessorial pay, and a generous employee benefits program. In addition, we offer an incentive program for high mileage, and other performance measures, including safety.
Average first year earnings for a newly licensed driver range from $40,000 to $55,000 or more. Annual earnings for an experienced driver range from $60,000 to $80,000 or more.
At Kriska, we recognize the value of your prior driving experience. If you have 3+ years of verifiable experience operating a transport truck, you qualify for our top rate of pay (upon completion of your probationary period).

Kriska is different from other transportation companies who may only give one full day off for every week away from home and require drivers to be on the road from 1-4 weeks at a time.
We offer most drivers two full days off every week and our drivers are on the road only 5-6 days at a time. Regardless, trucking is a lifestyle that differs from most other careers. If you and your family cannot invest one year of your life with a company like Kriska, trucking may not be for you.
We prefer to hire drivers with a minimum of 1-2 years of experience; however, we do hire newly licensed applicants from reputable driving schools. All new hires participate in three and a half days of classroom orientation and an in-cab training period. We provide experienced Driver Trainers to get you started right.
Experienced driver in-cab training usually lasts one week. Newly licensed drivers should expect six weeks for training.
Kriska does not permit passengers under the age of 16. Passengers must sign a waiver and if you are transporting a FAST load, will require a FAST card.
